What are Extended Aged Care at Home Packages?

Extended Aged Care at Home or EACH packages are available to older people with multiple and complex support needs who require a significant amount of weekly support. In some circumstances younger people with a disability may also be eligible for these packages. Extended Aged Care at Home Packages are an Australian Government Initiative.

Who can refer for extended age care at home funding?

In regions in which the Aged Care Assessment Team manages an the waiting list for EACH packages for the region, KinCare prioritises Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) referrals. Eligibility for the service is dependent on an ACAT assessment.

What services are offered in the each program?

The EACH Program provides a variety of supports to people who are eligible for high level residential aged care. Services can include domestic assistance, personal care, nursing services, allied health services, social activities, companionship, transport, basic home and garden maintenance and 'Vital Call' installations. Services are provided to meet assessed needs as determined by a KinCare Program Manager. Assessments for Extended Aged Care at Home Packages consider client functional capacities and the needs of each client relative to other clients eligible for the service. Service plans are developed in consultation with each client.

How does the EACH program work?

An Aged Care Assessment Team determines a client's eligibility for an EACH package. A KinCare Program Manager conducts a detailed assessment to assess each client’s specific needs. Clients participate in developing a care plan that will appropriately meet their needs within the scope of the EACH program.

Special needs

KinCare’s services are planned around the needs of each individual client. KinCare can provide services that meet special language, cultural, religious, dietary and other needs.

What about client safety?

All KinCare staff have received specialised training to provide in-home care. Staff wear a uniform and photograph identification. All staff employed by KinCare must undergo police and working with children checks.

How much does Extended Aged Care at Home package cost?

A client contribution is required towards the cost of providing the Extended Aged Care At Home service. Fees are subject to a fee cap. Special arrangements can be made for clients who are assessed as financially disadvantaged. If you have any questions about EACH package costs or require a quote, please contact us.

Extended Aged Care At Home Packages In Sydney: Randwick, Inner Sydney, Sydney, Mosman, North Sydney Willoughby, Waverley and Woollahra.
