Transport Accident Commission

This service provides attendant care and support to people who have been injured in a motor vehicle accident.  This service is funded by the Victorian Transport Accident Commission.

Anybody can refer to this service.
What services are offered?
KinCare’s Attendant Care Services assist a person with a disability with everyday tasks to help them live as independently as possible.  Services can include assistance with mobility, showering, toileting, grooming, meal assistance, meal preparation, exercise, domestic responsibilities, recreation, personal development, communication, mobility, shopping and other independent living skills.
How does the program work?
Attendant Care Services in this program are available to people injured in a motor vehicle accident and approved to receive attendant care services by the Transport Accident Commission. 
KinCare can assist in contacting the Transport Accident Commission to discuss approval if required.
The Transport Accident Commission approves a specific volume of service for each client.
KinCare and the client develop a support plan within these guidelines to meet their individual needs and preferences.
A KinCare Program Manager is available to meet with each client and their family to discuss services prior to service commencement.
Support plans are flexible and can be modified to meet the changing needs and preferences of each client.
Special needs
KinCare’s services are planned around the needs of each individual client. KinCare can provide services that meet special language, cultural, religious, dietary and other needs.
What about client safety?
All KinCare staff have received specialised training to provide in-home care. Staff wear a uniform and photograph identification. All staff employed by KinCare must undergo police and working with children checks.
How much does it cost?
The Transport Accident Commission approves a specific range and volume of service for each client.  These services are fully funded by the Transport Accident Commission.  KinCare also provides other private services.  If individual clients wish to use additional services that are not funded by the TAC, these services can be arranged with KinCare at private rates.
