BAULKHAM HILLS, September 09 2009 – KinCare is a leading Australian In-Home Care Specialist organisation delivering In-Home Care services to Older Australians who are choosing to remain in the comfort of their own home.
As the Australian population life expectancy continues to increase, additional pressure will be placed on delivering Health Care services that meet individual needs for Older Australians. Minister Justine Elliot said “Older Australians have told the Government that they wish to remain independent, in their own homes and in their communities. Community care services help many people stay at home instead of moving prematurely into a residential aged care facility”.
As part of the Australian Government’s Aged Care Approvals round announced in June, KinCare can now provide additional services to residents across the ACT and NSW including those living in the Australian Capital Territory, Auburn, Bankstown, Baulkham Hills, Blacktown, Fairfield, Hornsby, Hurstvillle, Kogarah, Ku-ring-gai, Liverpool, Mosman, North Sydney, Randwick, Rockdale, Willoughby and the Yass Valley Local Government Areas.
Not everyone wants to move into a residential aged care facility. Often, the family home offers comfort and security and for many people, residential care is not an affordable option. “In-Home care providers like KinCare offer older people the benefits of residential care in their own familiar surroundings” says Therese Adami, KinCare General Manager. Clients and carers are supported by health professionals and receive quality in-home care support services.
The Australian Government’s Packaged Care Scheme offers older people three different levels of support based on the individual’s needs and care requirements:
Community Aged Care Packages (CACPs): are individually planned and can include personal care; social support; transport to appointments; home help; meal preparation; and gardening.
Extended Aged Care Packages (EACH): can also provide additional support, including nursing care; allied health services such as a physiotherapy, podiatry; and assistance with oxygen and/or enteral feeding.
Extended Aged Care at Home Dementia (EACH-D): for the 245,000 people in our community who currently suffer from Dementia, the EACH-D program is tailored to help Older Australians with dementia who experience difficulties in their daily life because of behavioural and psychological symptoms associated with their dementia.
KinCare packages include health promotion; education; support; case management and practical in-home support services. All KinCare services facilitate Positive Ageing in the Home.
KinCare will commence launching packages across the ACT and NSW between Wednesday 16 September and Tuesday 29 September 2009. Members of the Press and the Community are invited to attend, to register your attendance contact KinCare on 1300 733 510.
